Being part of a team means we support each other, show up ready to work, and always play with purpose. These are the ground rules we expect every player to follow — not just to be better at soccer, but to be a great teammate and person.
1. Encourage Your Teammates — Never Tear Them Down
We all make mistakes. Criticizing a teammate doesn’t help anyone win.
✔ If you see something wrong, first offer support: “You’ll get the next one”
✔ Compliment before you suggest: “That was a great try — maybe try it like this next time?”
✔ Coaches follow this too — we correct with respect.
2. Listen When Coaches or Teammates Are Talking
You don’t have to be silent all practice, but when someone else is speaking — especially during instruction — show respect by listening.
✔ No interrupting
✔ No side conversations
✔ Eyes on the speaker
3. Don’t Get Down After a Miss — Short Memory, Big Impact
The best players take lots of shots — and miss plenty of them. What makes them great is they don’t let it shake them.
✔ Keep your head up after a miss
✔ Get the ball back and try again
✔ Focus on your next touch, not your last mistake
We want players who stay aggressive and confident — even if they just missed wide by a mile. That’s part of being a playmaker.
4. Fail Forward — Mistakes Are Part of the Game
If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not pushing yourself.
✔ Try new things
✔ Keep going even if it doesn’t work
✔ Effort matters more than perfection
5. Have Fun — But Stay Focused
Laughter is part of the game. Goofing off all practice isn’t.
✔ Find the right time for fun
✔ Don’t distract others who are trying to learn
✔ Stay locked in when we’re working on something important
